Waste Management Open, Loud wet and fun

McGolf Equipment Tips No Comments

The waste management Phoenix Open is a statement to the world the young guns are ready to take the center stage.

This tournament puts a premium on a great drive because the next shot is a shot iron shot. You need a laser like next shot due to the sloping of the greens.  The weather prior to the last round made the course susceptible to attack and many players went LOW with average scores of 7 under par.

The last two holes where the deciding tracks where Hunter Mahan bombed a driver to within sandwedge shot to the green and made par. Ricky Fowler the hot rod for Puma and Titleist hit thunderous shots into what may have been trouble but some serious wedge play kept him contention. The main hurdle for the players was the speed of the green. Many players left putts short and while some where long enough the reads left them only one golf ball away from some outstanding putts.

How did the pros put the ball in play so well?  A driver that fit each pro helps with confidence off the tee. Swing tendencies, swing speeds, launch angles, shaft loading, ball spin, correct and loft are some of the characteristic that each golfer is measured by and the recommendations completed to maximize distance with control.

Fittings at McGolf can give you that same confidence and maximize your potential on the course. That why we say get the treatment the pros get. If you fight a hook, a slice, hit the ball too short or you never know which way the ball will travel then a fitting will certainly help.
